Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born on November 8, 1967. Her most memorable roles include Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She was also on the show as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy in Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Her father, Walter Smith, was an analyst in the field of computer markets, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a psychotherapist. Courtney was just seven years old when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. She has an older sister, Jennifer, who is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. She also performed for the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley during her time in high school. Thorne-Smith made her first film appearance in the movie drama Lucas along with Winona Ryder Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the 1980s, she appeared in several movies like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she was a star in the box office failure Chairman of the board with Carrot Top. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith had a relationship with Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen mate from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple broke up in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group Marketing Company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. Aged 40, she gave birth on January 11, 2008 to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
